HEATHLANDS PET CREMATORIUM

<o:p>

On the 6th of April this year the regulations changed regarding the waste control and management. The Environmental Permitting Regulations came into force combining the Pollution Prevention and Control and Waste Management Regulations.

<o:p>

Under the old legislation, as a low capacity plant incinerating the carcases of domestic pets, no licence was required for us to operate a pet crematorium.  Under the new legislation an Environmental Permitting Permit (EPP) is now required for us to carry on the business. This would have required us to install a new incinerator unit at a cost of £12-14K. The cost of the application for the EPP is £3,180.

Unfortunately, given these financially uncertain times, we cannot justify such expenditure. As our current plant is operating illegally under these new regulations we have had no choice but to close it down with immediate effect.

We will continue to offer individual cremations for clients of <st1:placew:ston><st1:placenamew:ston>Heathlands <st1:placenamew:ston>Veterinary <st1:placetypew:ston>Hospital only, but these will be performed off site at the Cambridge Pet Crematorium.

Many thanks for your support over the years,  Alan Sim
