CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS AND MRI
We have had considerable interest from Cavalier breeders for MRI scans fro screening for syringo-hydromelia (SH). It is thought thta this condition affects one in three of the breed. We carry out this service for the very reduced rate of £200 plus vat which a lot of clients think is very good value for money. The cost includes a full general anesthetic and fluid support during anaesthesia. If an expert second opinion from a consultant neurologist is required a fee of £25 plus vat is charged.
ONCOLOGY REFERRAL SERVICE
Rob Harper, a member of the Royal College of Oncologist has joined us to provide an oncology referral service for the area. He is utilising the superb facilities at Heathlands to better stage tumours prior to therapy.
NEW STAFF MEMBER John Harvey has now joined the practice to as our orthopaedic surgeon. John has considerable experience of orthopaedic surgery and has a special interest in surgery of the spine
A SAD GOODBYEUnfortunately we are saying goodbye to one of our vets, Ben Johnson. He will be leaving us in the New Year and will be sadly missed by all of us but we wish him every success in the future.
We are still getting lots of clients from other practices wishing to use our services out of hours. As this service is run at a loss to the business, we are unhappy at this continued situation. Accordingly, we have decided to increase our charge for out-of-hours consultations considerably. However, we will give all of our own clients a reduction of £50 for each out-of-hours callout, providing only that you have used our services at least once in the previous two years. As usual, routine consultations on Saturday and Sunday mornings are at the normal consultation fee. We have staff on the premises 24 hours a day and will continue to supply one of our own vets 7 days a week 24 hours a day as you require!
